My Essay in the topic that the duty of a teacher is to show practical examples for what they teach or not

Studying is one of the important activities that human does all his life, so everyone in this world are students. Some are self-taught others are taught by a teacher but the most important thing of what we study is to remember it, here is where the teacher should help the students to remember what they have studied by relating the things with day to day activities and practical examples. The following essay of mine throws light on the strong reasons why, I chose this side.

The law of gravity is a very complex theory founded by Sir Isaac Newton but the complex law is taught easily to high school students using the "Falling of Apple" example.
Whenever you ask a high school student that what is law of gravity? Even if he doesn’t know the definition he says the apple example. The apple example is easy to relate with and understand. In the subject of Physics many such complex theories like Newton three laws, Law of Gravity are clearly explained to high school students using Examples from day to day life, for instance the Newton's First Law in which it is said that an object moves in a same speed if there is no disturbance but in actual life it's not so when you roll a ball on the floor it comes to a stop after some time It’s due to the friction in the surface. The physical science is where practical examples will be very useful to understand for a student clearly.

Student of Commerce and Economics study about money and its uses, here too a lot of complex theories exist but these theories are easily explained when a student is asked to relate it with day to day usage of money, For example "Veblen Effect" is an exception to the "Theory of Law and Demand" whenever price increases the demand decreases is the general theory but in Veblen Effect the following doesn’t happen which is very clearly explained to students using the example of Gold, even though the price of Gold increases continuously the demand for it never decreases but only increases, such a complex theory can be explained in a few lines if we use practical examples. Even the most complex stock market working is easily understood by students when they themselves work in a model stock market.

Last certainly but not the least is mind mapping it is one of the important ways for a student to remember what he has studied. Mind mapping consists mainly of pictorial representation, relating with day to day activities and creating codes to remember names. A good student is always one who can mind map the important points what he has studied. Mind mapping has also been a crucial reason for me to support this side.

Thus, I would like to conclude my essay saying that "The most important duty of a teacher is to show students how, what they are studying relates to their daily lives. The important reasons which support my point of view are the Law of Gravity, The laws in Economics and mind mapping. I personally have benefited a lot as my teachers have always related me even complex topics in day to day practical lives.

  1. That's true... My chemistry teacher will probably agree... Once she was talking about how children grow up, become independent with complete education, them come back to contribute to the family. We all thought she was teaching moral values until she said, "That is kohlrausch's Law."

  2. It's true, brain stores images and words not passages thats the reason why examples are needed :)
