Creativity in human mind is best reflected in the form of Art, Art and Civilization have connections for thousands of years. The first step when the ancient civilization progressed was when they started to draw graffiti in the rocks. As civilizations reached the modern stage the art produced by human beings were exemplary, thoughtful and shows the social and economic landscape of the time they lived. Art has always had a huge number of Followers, especially the upper class supported Art on all times. I strongly believe that achievements of a culture or civilization should be judged by the art that has been produced. The following essay of mine throws light on the strong reasons why, I chose this side.
Greece is one of the countries in the world, which always was in love with art. In the earlier days they were the most advanced civilization and so they spent most of their time in creating arts, which Reflects their economical and social condition of those times.Noble men like
Socrates,Aristotle,Plato are the leading figures of the art even now. Whenever we think of Greece, we think about these noble men and the rich history of the nation. We are wondered by the ancient wonders which they built then but which couldn't stand the test of time. Even though Modern Greek hasn't produced any spectacular art, Still people are interested in knowing more about Greece and their art culture.
Leonardo da Vinci who was born in Italy is considered to be a godfather in the history, He had lot of interests and one such was in art. His most popular art work is "THE MONA LISA" the drawing Is considered to be very unique because according to the angle you see the drawing the emotion exhibited by the woman in the drawing changes, the details of the drawing are so deep and the emotions are so varied that No other art work is as famous as MONA LISA. Art collectors are still puzzled by the point that how could Leonardo Da Vinci draw such a enigmatic
artwork. The other masterpiece he created was "The Last Supper" which shows that the Italians Have encouraged the art form, Italy is one of the hot places for tourists as Italy has the world wonder "The Leaning tower of Pizza". Here too Italy is judged by the art it has produced in various centuries.
India is a country which has supported artists and their works from the ancient times. Indians have produced many stunning Art works like the paintings in Ajanta and Ellora,The Big temple in Tanjavore
and of all the Taj Mahal in Agra. Whenever a Foreigner thinks of India he thinks about the Taj Mahal but not the living condition of the people in India. The Aryan Civilization was the most advanced civilization in the olden days. They are said to have lived a life much better than what The whole world is living now. So advanced were they that their works on pottery and graffiti in rocks have been deeply Studied and researched. These were the important points which have been a crucial reason for me to support this side.
Thus, I personally feel that the achievements of a culture or civilization should be judged by the art it produces. I believe that tourists come to nations like Greece or India to see the achievements made in art by the respective nations
And not on the quality of life leaded by the people in those nations. Artists have always been recognized in all centuries and Have been rewarded according to their talents. This encourages the arts to flourish. I would like to finish my essay saying that Art's are the benchmark of a civilization, don’t you think so??
