The old and the children, everyone knew exactly what to do. And they did just that.

9. THE MEDIA
They showed magnificent restraint in the bulletins. No silly reporters. Only calm reportage.

10. THE CONSCIENCE
When the power went off in a store, people put things back on the shelves and left quietly

If India had the chance, they would have caught him, brought him home..Given him a lawyer to speak for him.Give him food and shelter as they did to Kasab..India would have provided him shelter and prolonged the time of his execution.We people know that Pakistanis are not good to us but we offer peace talks to them , aid them with money to shelter their terrorists..The most unacceptable was the two PMs sitting side by side and watching cricket match..Its a real SHAME for us.. We must learn to RETALIATE...

India must learn to be proud of its wealth and health..We have our own SELF RESPECT..Never let them down by having peace talks with terrorists and betrayers...

Number 13 and Triskaidekaphobia

Hi guys, This article will talk about the myths surrounding number 13,The fear for number 13 is called Triskaidekaphobia, a word which was coined in 1911. Friday the 13th has been considered an unlucky day since the 1800s, as a combination between an unlucky day, Friday, and the number 13. Another theory as to why the date and number 13 is considered unlucky is that, on the day of Friday the 13th after the final Crusade the pope had sent out men to capture and burn alive the last 13 Knights Templar in order to put an end to the Crusades.

Mythology has its own story. The Norse gods were
having a banquet for 12 at the Valhalla when Loki,
one of the evil gods gatecrashed the party. Balder
was the god of light, joy and reconciliation. He had
a blind brother whom Loki tricked into throwing a
sprig of mistletoe on Balder's chest which killed
him ( Balder). Mistletoe is the only earthly thing
that was fatal to Balder.

Later in the 18th century, this belief about Friday the 13th
was again reinforced. The British ship HMS Friday was
launched on a Friday , the 13th , the captain was a man
named Jim Friday. The ship was never seen nor heard
from again.

Another theory links the bad luck associated with the number 13 with Jesus Christ's last supper where the persons around the table, counting the Christ and the twelve apostles, was, indeed, thirteen. This would also be the reason why it is considered unlucky to have 13 guests at a table.

Some "unlucky" events associated with 13 is
the famous Apollo 13 mission in 1970. It was
launched on 1313 hours, from pad 39 ( 13 x 3),
3 of the sleeping arrangements for the astronauts
were timed to start at 13 minutes past the hour
and so was one of the possible splashdown.

On April 13th, the first of the several setbacks to
Apollo 13 occurred and this added drama to the mission.

In many hotels and skyscrapers, there is no 13th
floor.Most airplanes have no seat No. 13. In Italy,
it is usual to leave out 13 in numbering the
lottery tickets.

LUCKY 13

In Sikhism, the number 13 is considered a special number since 13 is tera in Punjabi, which also means "yours" (as in, "I am yours, O Lord"). The legend goes that when Guru Nanak Dev was taking stock of items as part of his employment with a village merchant, he counted from 1 to 13 (in Punjabi) as one does normally; and thereafter he would just repeat "tera", since all items were God's creation. The merchant confronted Guru Nanak about this, but found everything to be in order after the inventory was checked. April 13 also usually turns out to be Vaisakhi every year, which is the Sikh New Year and the major Sikh Holiday.

Several successful sports figures have worn the number 13. Ozzie Guillén, manager of the 2005 World Series Champion Chicago White Sox, has worn the number throughout his baseball career. Alex Rodriguez began wearing it upon joining the New York Yankees (three, the number he had previously worn, is retired by the Bronx Bombers to honor Babe Ruth). Dan Marino, an American football player known for passing the 2nd most yards in NFL history, wore the number 13. Basketball great Wilt Chamberlain wore the number 13 on his jersey throughout his NBA career. Also, FIBA rules require a player to wear the number in international competitions (only numbers from 4 to 15 could be worn, and as there are 12 players, one must wear 13); Chris Mullin, who wore #20 in college and #17 in the NBA, wore #13 for both (1984 and 1992) of his Olympic appearances. Shaquille O'Neal wore #13 in 1996; Tim Duncan wore #13 in 2004. Steve Nash is currently wearing it for the Phoenix Suns. Yao Ming wore it in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Mats Sundin, Pavel Datsyuk, Bill Guerin, and Michael Cammalleri wear 13 in the NHL. One of Iceland's all time best handball players, Sigurður Sveinsson, wore the number 13 when he played for the national team. In association football, both Gerd Müller and Michael Ballack have favoured the number 13, among others.

Nicholas Effect!

There were a couple named, Rega and maggie Green. They were going in a taxi to visit some great places in Italy. (Both are originally from US) Reg Green was a writer. And when they were going in A taxi.along with their 7 year Nicholas . There began Gun firing suddenly by highway robbers. The driver ran leaving them in the car. The helpless family tried to escape but their son Nicholas was shooted.
The couple rushed to hospital. But they soon came to know that Nicholas cannot live. Then Nicholas's parents agreed to donate his organs, which went to seven Italians waiting for transplants. Reg and Maggie Green spoke openly to the media, with no bitterness, about their loss and decision. The world took the story--and the Greens--to its heart. In the first few days after his death, the number of people signing organ donor cards in Italy quadrupled. Donations there last year were more than double the rate they were in the year before he died. The world's response to the Green's personal tragedy is called "the Nicholas effect." No matter their nationality or calling, people respond from the heart--presidents, movie stars, schoolchildren, grandmothers, Boy scouts, soccer players, surgeons, and organ recipients. Organ donor cards are signed. Poems are written, pictures painted, parks dedicated, scholarships established, medals given, children hugged.

So this was the story.

Our seven recipients are like many others who need a transplant - a mother who had never seen her baby's face clearly; a diabetic who had been repeatedly in comas; a boy of 15, wasting away with a heart disease, who was only the same size as a seven year old; a keen sportsman whose vision was gradually darkening; and two children hooked up to dialysis machines several hours a week. Then there was Maria Pia, a vivacious 19-year old girl who the night Nicholas was shot was dying too. Now, against all odds, she's in bursting health, is married and in 1998 had a baby whose name is Nicholas.



The Greens and the seven recipients:
These seven people are not rich or famous and their lives are marked by the struggles we all have to face. But they feel they have been reborn. Few potential donors realize, I think, what a mighty gift they have in their hands. By one action they can save other families from the devastation they themselves face. Sometimes I wonder how there can be any other choice. Donor families who make the same decision we did, in lonely hospital rooms all over the world, know that none of this takes away the pain. I read recently that Einstein said that once he had evolved his theory of relativity, it never left him even for a minute. That's how I, and I daresay others who have lost someone very close, feel. The sense that life is missing a vital ingredient is there all the time. But donating does put something on the other side of the balance. Sometimes at meetings Maggie and I go to, someone will come up at the end and say: "I wish I'd done that." They feel they have lost everything and got nothing back and they sense that we did get something back. And they're right. For the rest of our lives we donor families can feel proud that our loved ones saved someone when no one else in the world could. Reg Green

Conclusion
Nicholas's name continues to be associated with organ donation and generosity. The result of his parents' decision is described as "The Nicholas Effect" (l'Effetto Nicholas) and refers not only to the organ donation issue but also to the good will that emerged from the tragedy.

Ravana is a character in Hindu and Srilankan (helayan community) history, a powerful legendary king who ruled in Ancient Lanka and is the primary antagonist in the Ramayan epic.he is primarily projected as a brute and most infamously as having kidnapped Rama's wife Sita. Ravana is also mentioned as a great scholar, a capable ruler, a player of the veena , courageous king,exponenet of six sastras and four vedas and a devoted follower of Shiva, and he has his apologists and staunch devotees within the Hindu traditions.he is known for socracy and authored a powerful book called Raavan Sanhita on astrology..he had great knowledge in political science and built many charity homes..he is believed to be the grandson of Brahma , son of sage Vishrava, younger brother of Kubera..He was the king of the Dravidian tribe _ GAUD.he composed vibrant Shiva Tandava stotras.. his aim was to cross death and birth by the art of self-abnegation.. temples and worshippers for Ravana in India is quite surprising..he married Mandothari, an Indian Jodhpuri woman.. a mandap called “ Ravan ki Chawari”is in Jodhpur symbolizing their marriage place…

Centuries back..King Shiv Shankar of Kanpur (UP) built a temple for him in Kanpur..Ravana is worshipped as GOD there..It is open only on Dussehra. And prayers are offered.. he is considered as the body guard of Kailash nath temple and maa Shakthi temple. Few people in Rajasthan and in Gujarat ( Dave Brahmins of Mudgal Gotra) consider themselves as descendants of Ravana and worship him.. Ravana is believed to be a Kanyakubja Brahmin and people of this sect offer prayers to him on Dashami ..Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh has a temple built between 9^th and 14 th century.. pujas are being offered for nearly 600 years to till date… a Shivalinga in Kakinada in Karnataka is considered to be installed by Ravana himself and is worshipped by fisher men community there…it is open only for Dashami..he is mainly known as LANKAPATHI…Ravana in Lanka is known for his good deeds,justifying administrations and moral rule..He was a very helpful king blessed by Lord Shiva who won all th three worlds that the sun would rise and set at his commands during Ramayan.. Burning of his images is considered injustice by his devotees as he was a learned individual and had great knowledge in hindu scriptures,vedas,divine music…
