THE UNKNOWN RAAVANA AND HIS TEMPLES

Ravana is a character in Hindu and Srilankan (helayan community) history, a powerful legendary king who ruled in Ancient Lanka and is the primary antagonist in the Ramayan epic.he is primarily projected as a brute and most infamously as having kidnapped Rama's wife Sita. Ravana is also mentioned as a great scholar, a capable ruler, a player of the veena , courageous king,exponenet of six sastras and four vedas and a devoted follower of Shiva, and he has his apologists and staunch devotees within the Hindu traditions.he is known for socracy and authored a powerful book called Raavan Sanhita on astrology..he had great knowledge in political science and built many charity homes..he is believed to be the grandson of Brahma , son of sage Vishrava, younger brother of Kubera..He was the king of the Dravidian tribe _ GAUD.he composed vibrant Shiva Tandava stotras.. his aim was to cross death and birth by the art of self-abnegation.. temples and worshippers for Ravana in India is quite surprising..he married Mandothari, an Indian Jodhpuri woman.. a mandap called “ Ravan ki Chawari”is in Jodhpur symbolizing their marriage place…

Centuries back..King Shiv Shankar of Kanpur (UP) built a temple for him in Kanpur..Ravana is worshipped as GOD there..It is open only on Dussehra. And prayers are offered.. he is considered as the body guard of Kailash nath temple and maa Shakthi temple. Few people in Rajasthan and in Gujarat ( Dave Brahmins of Mudgal Gotra) consider themselves as descendants of Ravana and worship him.. Ravana is believed to be a Kanyakubja Brahmin and people of this sect offer prayers to him on Dashami ..Vidisha district of Madhya Pradesh has a temple built between 9^th and 14 th century.. pujas are being offered for nearly 600 years to till date… a Shivalinga in Kakinada in Karnataka is considered to be installed by Ravana himself and is worshipped by fisher men community there…it is open only for Dashami..he is mainly known as LANKAPATHI…Ravana in Lanka is known for his good deeds,justifying administrations and moral rule..He was a very helpful king blessed by Lord Shiva who won all th three worlds that the sun would rise and set at his commands during Ramayan.. Burning of his images is considered injustice by his devotees as he was a learned individual and had great knowledge in hindu scriptures,vedas,divine music…

HARRY POTTER AND ME ;)

With funny experience of Sethu with omlette..i did like to share one of my dream exhilaration..i was never potter maniac until my cousin made me addicted to it.. I remember it was the first day i watched the movie with him 'harry potter and the chamber of secrets' ( absolutely second part was seen first :) ).i was impressed by their fantasy world which ended up into a strange dream.. Harry and i were best friends..he invited me to his witch school and the entrance was through a washing machine (i think thats why my head was making crazy circles when i woke up) there was no 9 3/4 platform on the other side but a drainage ?!?!..and suddenly i was in a flying car with harry..what a horrendous driver is he! He turned one right and i was clinging down in the air with my hands on the door opener..i jumped down from the car as if i am an experienced sky diver and landed on a rock in sea..(a sea n the middle of a city ?!?) what else was in stock? I was hunted down by werewolves and was managing them with a pole stick..And in reality was throwing things that ended up breaking the room mirror and my cousin's specs.... Hope he doesn't know that i was the reason becoz i covered it with a huge story ..

Few thoughts on coming election

Hey guys, The election results have been announced and its celebration for many and sorrow for few, Am not going to talk about the election results but I would like to concentrate on few things which the first time voters in the 2016 election would be doing and also a basic outlay on what propaganda the 2016 election would be fought. People are no more fools to be attracted to freebies and fake promises. There is a huge awareness among urban as well as rural voters about election which still can be improved. We can’t predict the parties contesting on 2016 election but the basic needs and outlines of the 2016 election would be something similar to this.

Election Manifesto: People would be more educated to know that the freebies are not given from the pockets of the administrators or by some rich industrialists. It’s all public tax money which is being converted into freebies. As the freebies increase the tax levied on the public would also increase. So it’s just like a give and take policy. As me an economist student I find it hard to digest that the government itself is giving freebies instead of creating more employment opportunities thus by creating a sustainable employee workforce. Another main source of money for freebies comes from the sale of Liquor which shows the state in a negative shade among the urban young voters. So in 2016 elections the public especially young voters would expect a revolutionary manifesto from the parties and the parties which bring out such have a good chance of winning the elections.

Canvassing: From the olden ages canvassing has been the same, A star speaker accompanies the candidate to the respective constituency and then talks about the achievements of their party and the black marks of the opposition and try to score brownie points, but in 2016 election even here there would be shift to aggressive online canvassing of votes as people don’t have time to sit in a public meeting for hours to hear what the speakers say. This would revolutionize the way elections takes place. Even we can expect Leaders to have a Video Conferencing with the public or a live chat session through internet connected by a high speed internet by which the candidate could easily reach more masses.

Candidates: How many times have we seen a candidate less than 30 contesting in elections representing major political parties, It’s always been senior citizens and septuagenarian’s
Contesting elections, India has one of the youngest workforces in the world. Isn’t it then logical then to have young blood in politics?? We definitely need lot of young blood with creative mind and a desire to serve the public, There are lot of youngsters but not enough opportunities in politics which is the sad state now. I think there must be some reservation like the Women’s Reservation of 33% we must have a legislation which should state that every party must have at least 30% of the candidates less than 30 years. Which would infuse lot of creativity into politics

Bribing voters: This is one of the shocking practices practiced in our democratical country; It’s really shameful that many sacrifice their democratical rights for hundred or two hundred bucks. The public consciousness has improved significantly during this election about this wrong doing but the awareness must be increased to alarming levels so that if someone comes to bribe you, you must have the guts to beat him and handle him to the police or the Election Commission

Allocation of Ministries: Elections are done; A party wins the election and forms a government what about the allocation of ministers?? Till date ministers are given portfolio according to their experience in politics and their power in the party. The more powerful he is the more powerful portfolio he gets, but this should not be they way. The Sports portfolio should be given to a Ex-Sportsman or Current Sportsman because they understand the difficulties of sports fraternity better than a outsider, The finance ministry should be held by a economist, The Education Portfolio should be held by a well known Educationalist or A social activist. These are few of the examples, I could give :)
I wish the winning parties in the current election to do serve public in a good way and to care for the citizens, these are my views one and only my views, If you have any comments please post it.

We have reached 500 hits

Hey guys, Our blog has successfully reached 500 hits my personal thanks to supporters and well wishers of blog. I would like to give you a short recap about this blog. This blog was started on April 2007 and for the last 4 years I was only posting in this blog and I could only get a total of 250 hits but with the new co-authors Sethuraman and Hamsini joining two days ago the blog and contributing articles we have reached 500 hits so quickly. Omelette just worked out...

Hey Guys,

You people know something about me?? Well if you don't, then get to know.If I am America then the kitchen is Russia!! Yes... the kitchen is my sworn enemy.I never dare to take a step into its frontier.To tell the truth i am even scared about it.Primary reason for that is my mom.She thinks she is Hitler[Don't doubt it] and the kitchen is Germany.So how could i possibly go inside there. So one fine day everybody at the household went out.I was glad because i was a guy who liked to stay alone.I don't really feel insulted by the fact - "I am one huge glutton you could ask for".Obviously my tummy started to make weird sounds.yes,hunger!!! Did not know what to do because my mom plotted everything...i raided the storeroom,fridge,could not get a bite of snack.Only eggs were there and also a loaf of bread.No way out, have to make an omelette to take with bread.There were 3 eggs.

I kept the pan on the stove,lighted it.My hands were fidgeting.Those items are fragile ones rite?? I was trying so smoothly possibly but it did not break.I gave it a hard spank....guess what...instead of falling on the pan it splashed on the back wall.Of the jerk i gave my elbows smashed another egg nearby!! So 2 gone out of three.

My tummy was at stake.I had to get this rite.Did it nice and slow.Smoothly it poured onto the pan.But i had some some serious issues in turning it over.But the omelette got torn,but it did not taste that awful that i thought it would.So had it.On taking a look at the mess i made...my thoughts went round in circles...if the Lady Hitler sees this.... "I am so dead!!!"

3 Days to go and counting....

Hello Guys,

Me unlike my close buddy priyadarshan is not at all a chess player.To be candid i even hate chess.But take no offence,i do know that it is a wonder game.So let me come to my topic now.My board results are going to be out in the air on 16th.So one could imagine what sort of a world i am in.One could never ever deny the fact that i am a lethargic sort of a person.So naturally i don't want that 16th of may on my calendar even.

My practicals freaked me even further.But somehow scraped through it.One could be the biggest optimist of the world but yet he could not be telling out without an iota of doubt that he is expecting flying colors to be donned by him.So,if a guy tells like that he seldom achieves it.Even darker events await me.Those ones are like voluntarily accepting eggs to be thrown on your face. Yes,it is one of those events like,where i am in a position to attend a family ceremony on the fall of this month.So obviously what is going to happen..???......your uncle,niece,aunt,nephew,cousins have just one question to shoot at you "How much was it you got in your public examination?"
